Asus 1015PEM Review

Asus 1015PEM has a sleek and perfectly designed exterior profile. Its body is a bit thicker at the back. Its entire body displays a curved design with a smooth matte touch, on the back lid. This portable PC is available in color shades of red, white, black and blue. Machines with red shade display an attractive coppery brown hue. The back lid of this computing device is thick and gives a solid look to it. The keyboard of this computing device has a chiclet design. Keys are soft, highly responsive and ensure pleasant typing experience. The keyboard of EEE PC 1015-PU17 has been supplemented with a multi touch track pad and smooth matte lid. A small plastic button for power on can be seen on top right of the keyboard. Buttons for Wi Fi and quick start can also be seen on left of power on button.

Other applications and features: Asus PC 1015 is cost effective. It is good to buy for those users who have a weak financial budget. Yet it commands multiple features and useful applications in its interface. It has a long battery life of 13 hours. Such a long run time is a great boon for those users who remain mostly in outdoor locations, during daily work. It also insures additional money savings with a free installation of Windows 7 in its 32 bit operating system. Image resolution of display screen is 1024 x 600 pixels. This insures greater picture clarity while viewing static and live multimedia images. Sata Series hard drive of this machine has a storage capacity of 250 GB. A 0.3 pixel webcam is an additional attraction in this mini PC notebook. Asus 1015 PEM-PU17 net book is also loaded with 3.0 blue tooth. The exterior body of EEE PC 1015-PU17 is 10.1 inches. 60,000 Chrome OS netbooks?

Inventec confirmed that it has already shipped about 60,000 Chrome OS-based netbooks to Google, which are expected to be used for testing.

 



Acer has cooperated with Quanta Computer to develop a 10.1-inch Atom N550-based Chrome OS netbook, featuring both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules; however, Acer is conservative about market demand as consumers normally have a difficult time changing their PC habits.

Acer Revo 100

Revo 100 is packing AMD Athlon II Neo dual-core processor with NVIDIA ION graphics, up to 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, Dolby Home Theater v3, Blu-ray drive, 802.11b/g/n, and a multitude of ports including HDMI and two mini-PCI Express card slots for expansion.

More interesting, though, is the slide-out RevoPad, which can function as either a multitouch gesture pad or, when activated, a QWERTY keyboard with lit-up keys on the same surface.

Toshiba NB520 Reviewed

The Toshiba NB520 netbook has a textured finish, brush metal, and integrated Harmon/Kardon speakers on the palm rest.

Running on Intel's dual-core N550 Atom processor and sporting 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 250 GB HDD, the NB520 will cost U.S. $450 in Singapore where it will first go on sale with Windows 7 Starter.

Asus 1215T Review

Kamal, ex owner of Gadgetmix, has posted a exhaustive review of Asus Eee PC 1215T netbook. This netbook is the first 12.1-inch eee pc with an AMD K325 chip. It runs at 1.7GHz clock speed and it blows away even the new dual core N550 processor.

The netbook comes in three colors - red, silver and black. The one that Kamal got for review is silver in color where he also mentions that it looks much like his Macbook Pro 13".

The Eee PC also has HDMI port and can play 1080p videos as well thanks to its ATi radeon HD 4250 graphics.

Toshiba NB520 Netbooks, Specs, Price

What sets the NB520 apart from the crowd are the stereo Haman Kardon speakers tucked into the palm rest area, which should give this netbook better sound than your average 10 inch mini-laptop… although I still wouldn’t expect miracles from any tiny speakers. No word on if or when the computer will make it to the US, or how much it will cost here.
